Utilizing Digital Platforms to Promote Seyegan Golden Village

Sleman. In order to provide understanding, awareness, and training for participants to use digital platforms for learning, increasing creativity and innovation, as well as managing and promoting the Kampung Emas Laboratory, Yogyakarta State University held a Community Service (PKM) activity in the form of “Training on Utilizing Digital Platforms for Education and Business” and “Training on Creating Creative Digital Content on Social Media to Promote the Kampung Emas Laboratory in Seyegan”.

The Community Service which was carried out on Saturday (27/9) in Kampung Emas Seyegan, Dusun Krapyak IX, Margoagung, Seyegan, Sleman, DIY was a PKM with the Institutional scheme of the Chancellor and Secretary to the Chancellor of UNY.

UNY Rector, Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, who is also the head of the PKM team, began his direction by conveying to the training participants that Kampung Emas Krapyak IX has nine main programs, which are called the ‘Nine Blessings Program’. Among them is the blessing education, that to become a successful person, one must be prepared from an early age with a good education, and also need to equip oneself with developing technology, one of which is digital media.

By participating in this PKM, it is hoped that success can be achieved.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto hopes that with this PkM, participants will be able to master the basic techniques of digital content production (video, photos, and graphics) using available devices, and be able to create effective promotional content to market MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) products or services in villages through social media platforms.

In line with this, the Secretary of the Chancellor, Dr. Satya Perdana also hopes that participants will be able to identify and produce digital content in the form of simple drone videos, aesthetic photos, interesting travel vlog videos so that they can promote tourist destinations, local wisdom, and cultural events in Kampung Emas Seyegan.

The participants of the activity were 25 young people, teenagers, and people of productive age from around the Seyegan Gold Village Laboratory, Krapyak IX Hamlet, Margoagung, Seyegan, Sleman, DIY.

The training was packed with lectures, discussions, practices and evaluations on the use of digital content and the creation of creative digital content, starting with the speaker delivered by Putriana Damayanty, S.Kom., M.Pd.. by playing Kahoot, a game-based learning platform used to create quizzes, interactive, surveys, polls or discussions to attract attention and initiate enjoyable concentration.

The next session was delivered by Heru Subekti, M.Pd., on creating and utilizing creative digital content.
One of the participants, Alfian, said he was very happy with the existence of this PKM, especially the Kahoot game which he said made learning very fun.

Similarly, Chanda felt she had been given a new experience in creating more varied and interesting digital content.
