Yogyakarta. As a preventive measure against drug abuse, the Kretek Police continue to intensify outreach activities. On Friday (26/9/2025), the Kretek Police Chief, AKP Sutrisno SH MH, attended the Shining Village (Drug-Free) outreach activity as well as national insight education held at the Ruri Restaurant, Parangtritis, Kretek, Bantul.
The activity, initiated by the TP PKK of Parangtritis Village, carried the theme “National Insight Education as the Foundation of a Strong and Independent Anti-Drug Village”. The event was also attended by representatives of the KUA Kapanewon Kretek, village officials, the Chairperson of the TP PKK, and local youth.
In his direction, the Kretek Police Chief emphasized the importance of the role of the younger generation as the nation’s main bulwark in facing the threat of drugs. He explained the types of drugs in circulation, their negative impacts on physical and mental health, and the legal consequences that will be borne by both users and dealers.
“Youth are a national asset. If they develop a strong national perspective and an understanding of the dangers of drugs from an early age, the village will become resilient and independent. We hope the youth of Parangtritis can become agents of positive change,” said AKP Sutrisno.
Through this activity, it is hoped that the youth of Parangtritis will become more aware of the dangers of drugs, develop a love for their homeland, and be ready to be at the forefront of protecting their environment. The Kretek Police are also committed to continuing to support positive activities that involve the community in drug prevention efforts.
