Sleman. The Simpati Class of Stars was successfully held at Yogyakarta Independent School (YIS), Saturday (September 27, 2025). This coaching clinic event featured former Indonesian Junior National Team coach, Indra Sjafri, who shared his experiences and provided direct training to 58 participants aged 8–12 years.
Through this program, children not only had the opportunity to hone basic soccer techniques, but were also equipped with motivation and sportsmanship values that are an important foundation in their journey as future soccer stars. Of the total participants, five children were selected to receive Golden Tickets that will take them to an exclusive experience with Manchester United and Juventus legend, Patrice Evra, at a special coaching clinic to be held this November in Jakarta.
Not only Indra Sjafri, the children can experience training with former professional players. There were Roberto Kwateh, who is also the father of national team player Ronaldo Kwateh, as well as Topas Pamungkas who has long worn the PSIM uniform and the national futsal team.
Offside Corp CEO Gilbert Garlycia expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm of the participants in Yogyakarta. He was very proud to see the enthusiasm of the children in Yogyakarta and optimistic about the future of Indonesian football .
“Offside, through the Simpati Class of Stars program, is committed to providing valuable experiences for the young generation of Indonesia, not only to improve technical skills, but also to instill the values of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We hope the participants will be happy and continue to be enthusiastic in pursuing their dreams, including the five children who will step into a big opportunity with Patrice Evra later in November,” he said.
The Simpati Class of Stars program will continue in various cities, providing
similar opportunities for Indonesian children to get closer to idols and world football stars. Meanwhile, Indra Sjafri, who directly led the coaching clinic, said he was very happy to participate in the program.
“I’m very happy to be able to participate in this program. Training young children is crucial, as this is the age at which a player’s character begins to develop. I see a lot of great potential here, and I hope they can continue to train with discipline, maintain their enthusiasm, and never stop dreaming of becoming great players in the future,” said Indra, who was successful with the U19 national team several years ago.
Previously, Offside Corp had successfully held the Simpati Class of Stars pre-event last August at Siliwangi Stadium, Bandung with former Indonesian National Team player, Zaenal Arief. Enthusiasm continued to grow, followed by the Simpati Class of Stars kick-off in early September in Jakarta with the Indonesian National Team defensive midfielder who is currently also active in the European League, Joey Pelupessy.
Through the Simpati Class of Stars program, Offside Corp is committed to bringing in other professional coaches, not only at the national level, but also internationally. This step was strengthened by Gilbert’s direct attendance at the prestigious 2025 Ballon d’Or Ceremony in Paris, France some time ago to expand wider connections with players, coaches, and management of top European clubs.
