Jakarta. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) noted that the fintech peer-to-peer (P2P) lending industry’s profits have continued to increase since the beginning of this year, reaching Rp 1.34 trillion as of July 2025. The profit achieved as of July 2025 is already approaching the Rp 1.65 trillion achieved throughout 2024.
Regarding this, fintech lending company PT Indonusa Bara Sejahtera (OVO Finansial) assesses that the opportunity for fintech lending profits this year to exceed those achieved throughout 2024 remains wide open.
“We see this opportunity as wide open, in line with the positive growth trend until mid-year,” OVO Financial President Director Riady Nata told Kontan on Sunday (October 5, 2025).
Overall, OJK data shows that outstanding P2P fintech lending financing reached IDR 84.66 trillion as of July 2025. This figure represents a 22.01% growth compared to the same period last year.
Seeing the positive industry growth trend, Riady explained that OVO Financial will strive to optimize this to boost performance. He stated that the company is continuously innovating to provide benefits to partners and customers through the adoption of new technologies, process optimization, implementation of risk management, and careful credit assessment.
“In addition, optimizing data-based decision-making to maintain the payment success rate (TKB),” he said.
Furthermore, Riady also stated that there are opportunities the industry can capitalize on until the end of the year, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning to improve service quality and operational efficiency. However, he acknowledged that weakening purchasing power is a challenge that needs to be addressed.
Responding to this challenge, Riady explained that OVO Financial will provide innovative products and serve digital loans integrated into the Grab and OVO ecosystem, namely OVO PayLater.
The service can be used as a payment option in the Grab application, as well as the GrabModal Narik product which is intended for Grab Driver Partners and GrabModal Mantul which can be used by Grab merchant partners.
Riady revealed that by October 5, 2025, OVO Financial, in collaboration with Grab Indonesia, had distributed funding worth IDR 6 trillion to more than 445,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and driver partners in Indonesia.
“We are optimistic that this positive trend will continue, supported by various government initiatives and close collaboration with regulators to boost national economic growth,” said Riady.
