Yogyakarta. PT Prudential Sharia Life Assurance (Prudential Syariah), in collaboration with the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership Endowment Utilization Council (MPW PP), once again demonstrated its commitment to health and humanity by holding a blood drive. In collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), the event was held at the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership Hall in Yogyakarta and was attended by more than 200 participants, both from Muhammadiyah leaders and the surrounding community.
This program is a continuation of a strategic collaboration between Prudential Syariah and Muhammadiyah to support national blood supply. According to WHO standards, the ideal blood requirement in a country is 2% of the population. Meanwhile, according to PMI data, by 2024, blood stocks will only reach around 91,000 bags, far from the ideal annual requirement of 7 million bags.
Vivin Arbianti Gautama, Chief Customer Marketing Officer of Prudential Syariah, explained that donating blood benefits not only the recipient but also the donor. Besides helping meet blood needs, donating blood can help detect certain diseases early and maintain good health. “This activity aligns with the mission of Prudential Syariah and PP Muhammadiyah to share blessings in every step and have a positive impact on the wider community,” she said.
The collaboration between Prudential Syariah and the Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board (MPW) extends beyond blood donation drives. Both parties have agreed on various strategic programs with three main focuses: professional waqf management, increasing Islamic financial literacy and inclusion, and community empowerment programs in the health sector.
Vivin added, “This kind of synergy between the private sector and community organizations can make a real contribution to the nation. We hope this blood drive will inspire more people to participate in maintaining their health and helping others.”
Under the signed Cooperation Agreement (PKS), this collaboration includes a Community Investment program, which includes health and safety education, the appointment of Muhammadiyah as a nazhir (trustee) for waqf management, and increased literacy and inclusion in Sharia insurance through educational classes. With this initiative, Prudential Syariah and Muhammadiyah are committed to strengthening the community’s quality of life and expanding participation in the Sharia financial ecosystem.
