Education. Ramdani, a student from Garut who studies at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, has recently made a significant mark on the global stage.
He was invited as a speaker at the International Conference on Advances in Health, Engineering and Science (ICAHES), organized by the International Society for Academic Research in Science, Technology, and Education (ARSTE). The event was held in Antalya, Turkey and drew participants from many countries.
At the conference, Ramdani presented his innovative idea titled “Fostering Character through Collaborative Civic Education: A Multinational Approach to Youth Empowerment.” His proposal emphasizes the importance of character education via a collaborative citizenship education framework, focusing on empowering young people to act as change agents in society.
According to Ramdani, in our fast‑moving globalized world, youth face increasing moral, cultural, and ideological challenges. Therefore, he argues, character education is not only relevant but essential. Through his lens, education should not only develop intellectual capabilities, but also nurture integrity and social awareness.
He highlighted that a strong grounding in character and civic education can help students become ethically responsible global citizens. By using a multinational approach, his model seeks to build synergy that supports character development more effectively across borders.
Ramdani said:
“This conference offered me the opportunity to share ideas and exchange experiences with peers from diverse nations. My research explores how collaborative citizenship education can empower young people to become active world citizens and moral leaders.”
Beyond his presentation, the conference gathered academics, researchers, and practitioners across fields such as health, engineering, science, and education — making it a vital platform for global scholarly exchange.
Ramdani’s participation was celebrated locally in Indonesia, especially in his hometown of Garut. His achievement is seen as a proud example of how Indonesian youth can contribute meaningfully on the global stage.
He hopes his work will inspire fellow students and young people to innovate and drive positive social change, particularly in the area of character education.
